Just one topic today: Save Wantage Hospital
Nearly 1,000 people attended the Save Wantage Hospital Rally in the Market Place on Sunday. A very peaceful march hiding a depth of feeling. Many of these people were born in the hospital and even more have been treated there in ths past. They want to be able to use it again.
It was a very successful event and we now need to take our message to those who run our NHS.
The Hospital is currently owned by Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust (part of NHS Oxfordshire) and they report to HOSC (Health, Overview & Scrutiny Committee) and OCCG (Oxfordshire Clinical Commissioning Group). We need to tell all of these bodies how we feel.
So that we can get our message across as forcefully as possible, we need as many people as possible to write to the Chairmen of these two bodies and attend the following meetings:
- the HOSC meeting on 20 Sept 2018 at 10am at County Hall,
(Cllr Fatemian, County Hall, New Road, Oxford OX1 1ND -
arash.fatemian@oxfordshire.gov.uk )
- the OCCG Annual Public Meeting on 27th Sept at 6pm in Jubilee House,
(Dr Collison, Chairman, OCCG, Jubilee House, Oxford, OX4 2LH -
kiren.collison@oxfordshireccg.nhs.uk)
Tell them what you think should happen to the Hospital
Please pass this message as widely as possible. The more people who contact Cllr Fatemian and Dr Collison, the more they have to listen. Tell them that a 2 year \\\"temporary\\\" closure is too long and what you think they should do.
Best wishes
