Newsletter 30 April 2020

Dear [Forename],

We believe this information from Mably Road Health Centre is up to date and we posted this as our column in the Herald this week. By the way, if you don't get the Herald and would like to read our columns then we include them on our website at https://www.wantageandgrove.org/columns.php

Staff are working in both practices from 8.30 am and 6.30 pm Monday to Friday. However they ask that you only go to the surgery if you have been given an appointment. Please do not go to the Health Centre on Mably Way without contacting them first.

Please also follow the instructions given to you if you are asked to go to the Health Centre. When you arrive please follow the signs and park as directed, you will be asked to contact the surgery upon arrival by telephone and remain in your car until a clinician collects you. These changes have been put in place to ensure that all patients and staff stay safe whilst continuing to adhere to government guidance.

The preferred method for contacting Church Street Practice is to use the eConsult system which is on their website http://wantagechurchstreet.co.uk/ and answering a few questions - they will then get back to you by the end of the next working day at the latest.

To contact Newbury Street either telephone 01235 763451 or click on the eConsult banner that says ‘Contact our doctors online’ on the website at www.newburystreetpractice.co.uk to use the econsult system and answer a few questions - they will then get back to you by the end of the next working day.

Services in the Health Centre have been restructured to provide acute care to potential and confirmed COVID19 patients in Newbury Street Practice. All other care is offered via phone/video consultations or if essential - face to face with one of the Clinicians from your own practice who will be temporarily based in Church Street Practice.

Lloyds Pharmacy is open but it is recommended that you get your prescriptions delivered. Prescriptions from all local chemists can be delivered for free by the volunteers of the Wantage and Surrounding Area Coronavirus Support Group by texting 07520 649186. All you have to do is text the name of the chemist where the prescription is followed by the name and address of the person the prescription is required. You will get an automatic response advising you of GDPR and asking if you are exempt from payment. If you don’t have the facility to text on your phone then please call 01235 260033 for your prescription to be delivered.

Don't forget that you can access information about roadworks around here at https://one.network/, but be warned that there is a closure of the A34 southbound carriageway from the A420 Botley Interchange to the A4130 Milton Interchange, with a signed diversion in place via the A420, A338, Wantage and the A417 for two nights from next Monday 4 May and closure of the A34 southbound carriageway from the A4130 Milton Interchange to the M4 (Chieveley), with a signed diversion in place via the A417, Wantage, A338 and A4 for four nights from Monday 18 May.

We are still trying to do something about getting the Thames Water Lorries from Lambourn rerouted but haven't had any success yet.

That's all for now.

Stay safe and if there is anything we can do to help you then please get in touch.
Thanks for reading,

Best wishes
Julie
